Day 1
Make your way to Gangotri (3,415M)
The trek begins from Gangotri, a sacred mountain town on the banks of the Bhagirathi River and considered the origin of the holy River Ganga. Located in the Greater Himalayas, it lies about 245 km from Dehradun.
If you have opted for transport with NK Adventure, we assemble early in the morning and begin our drive to Gangotri. The journey takes around 8–9 hours and passes through scenic mountain roads.
We aim to reach before dark to allow proper rest and avoid delays caused by unpredictable mountain conditions.
Day 2
Rest and acclimatization at Gangotri (3,415M)
This day is dedicated to acclimatization. Proper rest and hydration are essential to help your body adjust to the altitude.
You can explore the local market, nearby temples, and surrounding areas. Light walking is recommended to aid acclimatization.
We also conduct a group briefing session covering expedition details, safety guidelines, and environmental practices.
An evening acclimatization walk helps further adaptation.
Day 3

Distance: 14 km Trek
Today marks the start of the trek. We follow the trail alongside the Bhagirathi River towards Gomukh.
The route passes through Chirbasa, known for its pine forests. After lunch, we continue towards Bhojwasa, our campsite for the night.

Day 5
Acclimatization at Base Camp
This day is used for acclimatization, gear setup, and technical training on snow and ice.
Day 6 – Day 18
Expedition
High-altitude expeditions require flexible planning due to changing weather and conditions.
Between Base Camp and Summit, multiple camps are established including Advanced Base Camp (4,700M), Camp 1 (5,300M), Camp 2 (5,850M), and Summit Camp.
The expedition includes rotation climbs for acclimatization, load ferry movements, and summit preparation.
Summit attempts are planned based on weather windows, followed by descent back to Base Camp and eventually down to Bhojwasa.
Day 19
Depart from Gangotri
The expedition concludes with a sense of achievement and celebration. It is recommended to keep buffer days before onward travel due to unpredictable conditions.
Day 20 and 21
Reserve Days
These days are kept as contingency in case of bad weather or unforeseen delays during the expedition.
