Who Can Participate

  • Age Requirements:
    • April to November: 9 years.
    • December to March: 11 years.
  • First-timers are welcome, though prior trekking experience is preferred. Good fitness is a must.
  • Fitness Criteria:
    • The Trekker should have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance by jogging in 35 minutes without stress or 10 km of distance in 80 minutes without stress
    • If the trekker prefers cycling he/ she should be able to cycle 10 km of distance in 30 minutes .
  • If the trekker wants to carry a backpack then he/she should be able to carry a 10-12 kg backpack. If opt Off-load option then the trekker should be able to carry a 3-5 kg backpack.
  • If a trekker’s BMI is more or less than the normal range (18-29), please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.

Itinerary

Day-1: Rishikesh to Sari Village

  • Altitude Sari: 2,000 m/ 6,600 ft
  • Drive Distance: 190 km | 7-8 hrs

Day-2: Sari to Alpine Lake Deoriatal

  • Altitude Deoriatal: 2,400 m/ 8,000 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 3 km | 1-2 hrs

Day-3: Deoria Tal To Tala Village and drive to Baniyakund

  • Altitude:
    • Tala Village: 2,000 m/ 6,500 ft.
    • Baniyakund: 2,600 m/ 8,500 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 10 km | 6-7 hrs
  • Drive Distance: 15 km | 45 min.

Day-4: Baniyakund to Chopta (drive) and trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila and Return

    • Chopta: 2,850 m/ 9,400 ft

Day 1: Rishikesh to Sari Village

Start your journey from Rishikesh and drive towards Sari Village, the base point for the Deoriatal trek. The drive passes through scenic Himalayan roads and the sacred confluence at Devprayag.

On arrival, check into the guest house and relax. The peaceful village setting with terraced fields and mountain views makes it a perfect place to prepare for the trek.

Day 2: Sari Village to Deoriatal

  • Altitude: 2,400 m / 8,000 ft
  • Trek: 3 km | 1–2 hrs
  • Stay: Swiss Tents

Begin the trek from Sari Village to the beautiful alpine lake of Deoriatal. The trail gradually ascends through forests of maple and rhododendron.

Deoriatal is famous for the reflection of Mt. Chaukhamba in its crystal-clear waters. Spend the evening exploring the lake and enjoying peaceful Himalayan surroundings.

Day 3: Deoriatal to Tala Village & Drive to Baniyakund

  • Tala Village: 2,000 m / 6,500 ft
  • Baniyakund: 2,600 m / 8,500 ft
  • Trek: 10 km | 6–7 hrs
  • Drive: 15 km | 45 min

Trek through dense rhododendron forests and sections of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. Along the way, enjoy occasional views of Chaukhamba and Kedarnath peaks.

Reach Tala Village and take a short drive to Baniyakund, a peaceful meadow surrounded by forests and Himalayan views.

Day 4: Chopta – Tungnath – Chandrashila Summit – Return

  • Chandrashila: 3,700 m / 12,000 ft
  • Trek: 9–10 km | 7–8 hrs
  • Drive to Chopta: 5 km | 10 min

Drive to Chopta and begin the trek to Tungnath Temple, one of the highest Shiva temples in the world and part of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage.

Continue the climb to Chandrashila Summit, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba, and Kedarnath ranges.

After enjoying the summit views, descend back to Chopta and return to Baniyakund for overnight stay.

Day 5: Baniyakund to Rishikesh

  • Drive: 210 km | 7–8 hrs

After breakfast, drive back to Rishikesh through the scenic valleys of Garhwal.

Arrive in Rishikesh by evening, marking the end of your Chopta Chandrashila Tungnath trek with Deoriatal.

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 10 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
