This day is reserved for acclimatization to help your body adjust to the high altitude. After breakfast you can take a short walk around Gangotri and explore nearby areas.

You may visit Surya Kund, a beautiful waterfall formed by the Bhagirathi River, and Pandav Gufa, a cave believed to be associated with the Pandavas from the Mahabharata.

Later you can visit the Gangotri Temple or explore the small local market. The rest of the day is kept relaxed so that you remain well-rested and prepared for the trek beginning the next day.
