Who Can Participate

  • Age Requirement:
    • Minimum 18 years
  • Experience of at least two high-altitude trek (4,500m- 5,000m) is required. First-timers are advised to avoid this trek.
  • Fitness Criteria:
    • The trekker should have sufficient stamina to cover 6 km of distance by jogging in 30 minutes without stress or 10 km of distance in 60 minutes without stress
    • If the trekker prefers cycling he/she should be able to cycle 25 km of distance in 65 minutes.
  • Trekkers must be able to carry a 10-15 kg backpack, as off-load options are not recommended.
  • If a trekker’s BMI is more or less than the normal range (18-26), please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.

Itinerary

Day-1: Arrival in Manali

  • Reach Manali and rest. Briefing and overnight stay.

Day-2: Manali to Kaza

  • Altitude Kaza : 3,800m /12,000 ft.
  • Drive Distance: 183km, 5hrs.
  • Scenic drive through the Spiti Valley to reach Kaza (approx. 8–10 hrs). Overnight stay.

Day-3: Kaza to Kibber

  • Altitude: 4,100 m / 13,500 ft
  • Drive: 20 km | 1 hr
  • Short drive from Kaza to Kibber village

Day-4: Acclimatization Day

  • Stay at Kibber to acclimatize to high altitude. Light hikes around.

Day-5: Trek to Base Camp

  • Altitude: 4,700 m / 15500 ft.
  • Drive Distance: 8 km | 5-6 hrs
  • Trek from Kibber to Kanamo Base Camp. Overnight camping.

Day-6: Acclimatization at Base Camp

  • Rest and short acclimatization hikes to prepare for summit day.

Day-7: Summit Day

  • Altitude: 19,700 ft
  • Drive Distance: 8 km (both ways)| 8–9 hrs
  • Early morning push to Kanamo Peak Summit (5974 m). Return to Base Camp.

Day-8: Base Camp to Kibber, drive to Kaza – Manali

  • Trek Distance: 8 km | 3–4 hours
  • Drive Distance: 203 km | 6 hours
  • Trek back to Kibber, drive to Kaza and onward to Manali.

  • If buffer day is not used in the travel then it can be used to Explore Manali.

Day 1: Arrival in Manali

Your expedition begins with your arrival in Manali, one of the most popular mountain towns in Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by beautiful valleys and snow-capped peaks, Manali is the perfect place to begin your Himalayan adventure.

During the day you can explore the local markets or visit nearby attractions. In the evening, the entire trekking team gathers for an orientation session where trek leaders brief you about the upcoming expedition.

After the briefing, enjoy dinner and get proper rest as the adventure toward Kanamo Peak begins the following day.

Day 2: Manali to Kaza

  • Altitude: 3,800 m / 12,000 ft
  • Drive Duration: Approximately 6 hours
  • Stay: Guesthouse

Today you travel from Manali to Kaza, entering the breathtaking landscapes of the Spiti Valley. The drive follows the Manali–Leh highway, crossing dramatic mountain terrain and high passes.

As you enter the Spiti region, the scenery transforms into vast cold desert landscapes with small villages surrounded by green agricultural fields. By evening you reach Kaza, the main town of Spiti Valley.

Day 3: Kaza to Kibber

  • Altitude: 4,100 m / 13,500 ft
  • Drive Distance: 20 km | 1 hour
  • Stay: Guesthouse

After breakfast drive from Kaza to Kibber, one of the highest inhabited villages in the world. On the way you can visit the famous Key Monastery, an ancient Buddhist monastery overlooking the Spiti Valley.

The monastery offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the Spiti River flowing below. Later in the day, take a short acclimatization walk around Kibber village.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day at Kibber

This day is reserved for acclimatization to help your body adjust to the high altitude. Short hikes around the village and nearby ridges help improve acclimatization and prepare you for the upcoming climb.

Spend the rest of the day exploring Kibber village and enjoying the dramatic landscapes of the Spiti Valley.

Day 5: Trek to Kanamo Base Camp

  • Altitude: 4,700 m / 15,500 ft
  • Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
  • Stay: Tent

The trek from Kibber to Kanamo Base Camp begins with a steady ascent through the rugged landscapes of the Spiti cold desert. The trail climbs gradually through open valleys and alpine terrain.

The route passes through scenic fields, small lakes, and rocky terrain with occasional sightings of alpine flowers. After several hours of trekking you reach the base camp near Kanamo Lake.

Day 6: Acclimatization at Base Camp

This day is reserved for acclimatization at the base camp. Short hikes around the campsite help your body adapt to the high altitude before the summit attempt.

Trekkers rest, hydrate, and prepare equipment for the challenging summit day ahead.

Day 7: Summit Day – Kanamo Peak

  • Altitude: 6,000 m / 19,700 ft
  • Trek Distance: 4 km each way
  • Duration: 8–9 hours

The summit push begins before sunrise. The early start helps trekkers reach the summit before strong winds develop later in the day.

The climb involves steep sections of scree and snow. As you gain altitude, the panoramic views of the Greater Himalayas unfold around you.

From the summit you can witness spectacular views of Spiti Valley, along with distant Himalayan passes such as Parang La and Pin Parvati. After spending time at the summit, descend back to the base camp.

Day 8: Base Camp to Kibber – Drive to Manali

  • Trek: Descend from base camp to Kibber
  • Drive: Kibber → Kaza → Manali

After breakfast begin the descent from Kanamo Base Camp to Kibber village. Once back in Kibber, drive through Kaza and continue the journey toward Manali.

The scenic return drive offers one final chance to enjoy the rugged beauty of Spiti Valley before concluding your Kanamo Peak expedition.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with New Knight Adventure, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India

 

Cancellation Policy:

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 10 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
