Who Can Participate

    • Minimum 16 years
  • Fitness Criteria:
    • The Trekker should have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance in 30 minutes without stress or 10 km of distance by jogging in 70 minutes without stress.
    • If the trekker prefers cycling he/ she should be able to cycle 20 km of distance in 55 minutes.
    • First-time trekkers are welcome, provided they meet the mentioned fitness requirements.
  • If the trekker wants to carry a backpack then he/she should be able to carry a 10-12 kg backpack. If opt Off-load option then the Trekker should be able to carry 3-5 kg backpack.
  • If a trekker’s BMI is more or less than the normal range (18-26), please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.

Itinerary

Day-1: Dehradun To Gangotri | A Scenic Drive To Gangotri

  • Altitude(Gangotri): 3,100 m/ 10,200 ft.
  • Drive Distance: 260 km | 8 to 9 hrs.

  • Keep the original and copy of ID proof handy.
  • Come one day early if planning to come by flight.
  • We will pick you up at 6 am from the Prince Chowk, Dehradun for an 8-9 hour-long journey to Gangotri.

Day-2: Acclimatization Day At Gangotri | Bask In The Tranquility

  • Altitude: 3,100 m/ 10,200 ft.
  • After breakfast visit Pandav Gufa, Bhagirath Shila, Surya, and Gauri Kund.
  • Post lunch can visit Gangotri Temple or go shopping.

Day-3: Gangotri To Bhoj Kharak | Thrilling Spider Walls

Day-4: Bhoj Kharak To Kedar Kharak | Explore The Rustic Side Of Gangotri National Park

Day-5: Kedar Kharak To Kedartal And Back To Kedar Kharak | Soak In The Dreamy Charm Of Kedartal

  • Trek Distance (One way): 3 km | 3 hrs.

Day-6: Kedar Kharak To Gangotri | Pay Respects At The Holy Shrine

  • Altitude (Gangotri): 3,100 m/ 10,200 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 14 km | 8-9 hrs.

Day-7: Gangotri To Dehradun | Return With Beautiful Memories

  • Drive Distance: 250 km | 7-8 hrs.
  • Gangotri to Dehradun driving time may increase due to heavy traffic. Make your further travel plans from Dehradun after 8:30 pm.

Day 1: Dehradun to Gangotri – Scenic Drive

  • Drive Distance: 260 km | 8–9 hrs
  • ATM and network available at Uttarkashi
  • Gangotri is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites

The journey begins from Dehradun with a scenic drive towards Gangotri, the sacred origin of the River Ganga. Along the route you will pass through beautiful Himalayan landscapes, cross the Tehri Dam, and travel through the town of Uttarkashi.

As the road climbs higher, the forests grow denser and the weather becomes cooler. After reaching Gangotri in the evening, check into the guesthouse and relax after the long drive.

Day 2: Acclimatization Day at Gangotri

  • Altitude: 3,100 m / 10,200 ft
  • Visit Gangotri Temple, Surya Kund and Gauri Kund
  • Short acclimatization walks around Gangotri
  • Stay in guesthouse

This day is reserved for acclimatization to help your body adjust to the high altitude. Spend the day exploring the spiritual town of Gangotri and its surrounding areas.

You can visit the Gangotri Temple, observe the evening Ganga Aarti, and take short hikes nearby to help your body adapt to the altitude.

Day 3: Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak

  • Altitude: 3,900 m / 12,800 ft
  • Trek Distance: 7–8 km | 5–6 hrs
  • Steep rocky ascent
  • Kedar Ganga river on the left side
  • Limited water sources along the trail
  • Stay in tents

The trek begins from Gangotri following the Kedar Ganga River through dense forests filled with Bhojpatra trees.

The trail includes steep climbs and narrow rocky paths including the famous Spider Wall section. After crossing this technical stretch you reach the Bhoj Kharak campsite surrounded by beautiful mountain views.

Day 4: Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak

  • Altitude: 4,350 m / 14,300 ft
  • Trek Distance: 3–4 km | 3–4 hrs
  • Altitude Gain: 450 m
  • Trail opens into alpine meadows
  • Plenty of water sources
  • Stay in tents

Today's trek is shorter and easier compared to the previous day. The trail gradually leaves the forest and opens into beautiful alpine meadows.

The campsite at Kedar Kharak offers breathtaking views of surrounding peaks including Bhrigupanth Peak. Enjoy a beautiful sunset at the campsite.

Day 5: Kedar Kharak to Kedartal and Back

  • Altitude: 4,750 m / 15,500 ft
  • Trek Distance: 3 km | 3 hrs (one way)
  • Altitude Gain: 350 m
  • Steep rocky terrain
  • No water sources on the way

This is the most exciting day of the trek as you reach the stunning Kedartal Lake.

The trail climbs over rocky ridges and barren terrain before finally revealing the emerald waters of Kedartal. The lake reflects the majestic Thalaysagar Peak along with surrounding Himalayan giants.

After spending time at the lake, return to Kedar Kharak campsite.

Day 6: Kedar Kharak to Gangotri

  • Altitude: 3,100 m / 10,200 ft
  • Trek Distance: 14 km | 8–9 hrs
  • Altitude Loss: 1,250 m
  • Stay in guesthouse

Today you descend back to Gangotri following the same trail.

The trek passes through rocky terrain and forest trails. After reaching Gangotri you can visit the temple and attend the Ganga Aarti if time permits.

Day 7: Gangotri to Dehradun

  • Drive Distance: 250 km | 7–8 hrs
  • Arrival in Dehradun by evening
  • Meals on the way not included

The trek concludes with a scenic drive back to Dehradun.

Expect to reach Dehradun by evening. Plan your onward travel after 8:30 PM to account for possible traffic delays.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with New Knight Adventure, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India

 

Cancellation Policy:

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 10 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
