Who Can Participate

  • Age Requirement:
    • Minimum 12 years
  • First-timers are welcome, though prior trekking experience is preferred. Good fitness is a must.
  • Fitness Criteria:
    • The Trekker should have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance by jogging in 33 minutes without stress or 10 km of distance in 75 minutes without stress
    • If the trekker prefers cycling he/she should be able to cycle 15 km of distance in 45 minutes.
  • If the trekker wants to carry a backpack then he/she should be able to carry a 10-12 kg backpack. If opt Off-load option then the trekker should be able to carry 3-5 kg backpack.
  • If a trekker’s BMI is more or less than the normal range (18-28), please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.

Itinerary

Day-1: Reach Pokhara

  • Altitude: 825 m/ 2,700 ft.
  • Stay: in the hotel (check-in at 12 noon).
  • Briefing session at the guesthouse/hotel in the evening.
  • Stay in Hotel.

Day-2: Drive From Pokhara To Klue And Trek To Ghandruk

  • Altitude Ghandruk: 2,000 m/ 6,500 ft.
  • Altitude(Klue): 1,800 m/ 6,000 ft.
  • Drive to Klue: 48 km | around 2 hrs.
  • Trek Distance: 7 km | Duration 4-5 hrs.
  • Highlights of the trek: Stunning mountain views.
  • Stay: Teahouse/ lodge.

Day-3: Trek From Ghandruk To Tadapani

  • Altitude: 8,700 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 6-7 km | Duration: 4-5 hrs.
  • Grade: A mix of level walks and gradual ascents.
  • Stay in  Teahouse.

Day-4: Trek From Tadapani To Dobata

  • Altitude: 11,250 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 6 km | 6 hrs.
  • Grade: Moderate to difficult.
  • Witness a series of major mountain views.
  • Stay in Teahouse.

Day-5: Trek From Dobata To Chhistibang Via Muldai Top

  • Altitude: 9,900 ft (Chhistibang) | 11,900 ft (Muldai Top).

  • Grade: Ridge walk with steep ascents.

Day-6: Trek From Chhistibang To Khopra Ridge

Day-7: Trek From Khopra Ridge To Khayer Lake And Back To Khopra Ridge

  • Altitude: 15,300 ft.

  • Grade: A gradual ascent that becomes steeper as you gain altitude.
  • Highlight of the trek: An alpine lake at the foothills of Mt. Annapurna South.

Day-8: Trek From Khopra Ridge To Paudwar Via Gorge Point

  • Altitude: 6,600 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 8-9 km |  6-7 hrs
  • Stay in a homestay.

Day-9: Trek From Paudwar To Tatopani And Drive To Pokhara

  • Altitude: 3,900 ft (Tatopani) | 2,760 ft (Pokhara).
  • Trek Distance: 5 km | Duration: 3 hrs.
  • Drive Distance: 110 km | Duration: 5 hrs.
  • Grade Gradual descent through forests.

Day 1: Reach Pokhara

  • Altitude: 825 m / 2,700 ft
  • Stay: Hotel
  • Evening trek briefing session
  • Sightseeing options: Phewa Lake, Tal Barahi Temple, Himalayan Views, International Mountain Museum

Pokhara is the base for the Khopra Ridge trek. You must reach Pokhara by 4:00 PM to attend the trek briefing session scheduled at 6:00 PM at your hotel.

During the briefing you will meet the trek leaders and fellow trekkers and receive important instructions about the upcoming journey.

After the briefing you can explore the lakeside area of Pokhara, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and rest early for the trek starting the next day.

Day 2: Drive from Pokhara to Kimche and Trek to Ghandruk

The trek begins with a short drive from Pokhara to Kimche which takes around two hours. From Kimche the trekking trail begins towards the beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk.

The trail gradually ascends through small settlements with views of the Modi Khola river flowing below. Along the way you can also spot the Mardi Himal trail across the valley.

Ghandruk is one of the largest villages in the Annapurna Conservation Area. The village is known for its traditional stone houses, prayer flags and spectacular views of the Annapurna massif including Annapurna I.

Overnight stay will be in a teahouse or lodge in Ghandruk.

Day 3: Trek from Ghandruk to Tadapani

After enjoying a beautiful sunrise in Ghandruk, the trek begins towards Tadapani through forests and stone steps.

Early in the trek you will reach the famous Lovely Viewpoint which offers breathtaking views of Mt. Machapuchare, Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Himchuli.

The trail then continues through dense Rhododendron forests. During spring the forest becomes colorful with blooming flowers.

Cross small streams and forest trails before reaching Tadapani where you will stay overnight in a guesthouse.

Day 4: Trek from Tadapani to Dobata

The trail from Tadapani continues through forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak trees with the Annapurna range visible to the right.

The trek includes sections of descent followed by gradual ascents. You will reach Meshar where a water source is available.

From here you can enjoy views of Annapurna Fang and Annapurna peaks. Continuing further you reach Isharu which offers spectacular panoramic mountain views.

After a mix of ascents and descents the trail leads to Dobata where you will stay overnight in a teahouse.

Day 5: Trek from Dobata to Chhistibang via Muldai Top

Today is a long trekking day starting early from Dobata. After a short climb you reach a junction where the trail ahead leads towards Khopra Ridge.

As you ascend the Annapurna range gradually disappears while the magnificent Dhaulagiri range begins to appear.

Muldai Top is one of the best viewpoints on the trek and offers panoramic views of over twenty Himalayan peaks including Dhaulagiri I and Annapurna I.

After enjoying the views descend for about two hours to reach Chhistibang where you will stay overnight.

Day 6: Trek from Chhistibang to Khopra Ridge

Today’s trek is relatively short but steep. The trail climbs steadily out of the forest as the landscape opens up.

As you gain altitude the mountain views become increasingly spectacular. Snow-capped peaks surround the trail along with small streams and waterfalls.

Khopra Ridge offers magnificent close-up views of the Dhaulagiri range along with Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna Fang, Nilgiri North and South and Tukuche peak.

Enjoy a stunning sunset from the ridge before resting at the teahouse for the night.

Day 7: Trek from Khopra Ridge to Khayer Lake and Back

Today is a long trek to the sacred Khayer Lake, a glacial lake located at high altitude near Annapurna South.

The trek begins with a gradual walk along the ridge with breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri range. Soon the trail includes a mix of ascents and descents.

Along the way you will also witness the Kali Gandaki valley, known as the deepest gorge in the world.

After spending some time at Khayer Lake you will descend back to Khopra Ridge for the night.

Day 8: Trek from Khopra Ridge to Paudwar via Gorge Point

The trek today begins with a gradual descent through forests filled with rhododendron trees. During spring the forest is vibrant with colorful blossoms.

After crossing the forest section you will reach Loreni where a teahouse is located. From here the trail continues through bamboo forests and grazing pastures.

The final section is a steep descent to the traditional village of Paudwar.

Paudwar is known for its ancient stone houses and welcoming Magar community. Overnight stay will be in a homestay.

Day 9: Trek from Paudwar to Tatopani and Drive to Pokhara

This is the final day of the trek. The trail descends from Paudwar through forest paths towards Tatopani.

Once the forest clears you will walk alongside a stream until reaching Tatopani village.

From Tatopani a vehicle will take you back to Pokhara which is approximately a five-hour drive.

  • Keep 1–2 buffer days in your travel plan.
  • If buffer days are unused you can explore Pokhara.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with New Knight Adventure, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India

 

Cancellation Policy:

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 10 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
