The sheer joy of riding upto 2100 M into the queen of hill mussoorie is a lifelong cherishable experience.The route offers a challenging slope as it takes you from an altitude of 430 M to 2100 M in Approx. 25 Kms . For cyclists who have been thinking of doing the Manali – Leh route or any long distance mountain biking trip , this will be a good reality check & confidence booster.

Day 1: Dehradun-Mussoorie ( 25 Kms Uphill)
Day 2: Mussoorie-Dehradun ( 25 Kms Downhill )

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: 

Report in Dehradun at 6 AM. We will start early today as this is one of most challenging stretch for any cyclist. The pedaling takes you from an altitude of around 430 m to 2100 m in minimum possible distance. Complete ride will be uphill with view of Dehradun city on one side. We will ride for around 3-4 hours with pit stops and refreshments and final halt at Mussoorie. We will check-in to the hotel for overnight stay .

Day 2: 

Mussoorie-Dehradun ( 25 Kms Downhill )
Today will be an easy day as we don’t have to pedal at all. Complete ride will be downhill through sharp bends and corners. Ride carefully here. We will reach Dehradun in one & half hour . The trip will end in Dehradun by 12 PM.

This is a list of essential items for individuals doing Leh Tso Moriri Cycle expedition with New Knight Adventure. This list contains only those items which the participants are required to bring with them. The list excludes those items which are provided by New Knight Adventure on the expedition. We have divided the items into two categories. Items in Category A are essential for everyone. Items in Category B are only for participants bringing their own bicycles for the expedition. All the items in the list are essential except for those marked as optional.

FAQs

This ride is suitable for cyclists with prior experience. Ideally, participants should have completed at least one level 3 trek or similar endurance activity.

You should be able to ride 35–40 km on inclined terrain in a day. Regular endurance rides and strength training (squats, lunges, push-ups) are recommended.

Basic cycling skills such as gear shifting, braking, and handling uneven terrain are essential.

Minimum age is 13 years. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. Those above 60 must carry a medical fitness certificate.

The best time for this ride is between October and June.

The ride starts from Dehradun and goes up to Mussoorie, covering a climb from 430 m to around 2100 m.

Scenic mountain roads, lush greenery, winding climbs, and breathtaking Himalayan views make this ride highly rewarding.

Continuous uphill climbs, unpredictable weather, and endurance demands are the major challenges.

Accommodation is in hotels at Mussoorie.

Temperatures range from 10°C to 40°C depending on the season.

The ride is moderately challenging. It requires fitness but no advanced technical cycling skills.

Dehradun is well connected by road, rail, and air. You need to reach the base location on your own.

Good mobile connectivity is available in both Dehradun and Mussoorie.

ATMs are easily available along the route.

You are required to reach Dehradun on your own; pickup is not included.

The trip usually concludes in Dehradun by around 12 PM on the last day.

A support vehicle is provided for assistance, repairs, and emergencies. Cycles can be rented at an additional cost.

You should carry appropriate clothing, cycling gear, and personal essentials. A detailed packing list is provided after booking.

Yes, Dehradun has markets where you can buy or rent basic equipment.

Yes, your luggage is carried in a support vehicle during the ride.

Yes, extra luggage can be stored at the base location in Dehradun.

No permits are required for this route.

Proper washrooms are available at hotels and restaurants along the route.

First aid kits and trained staff are available. Emergency support is provided when required.

Yes, the expedition is safe and inclusive. Staff are trained and gender-sensitive.

Participants are transported to the nearest medical facility using support vehicles.

ID proof and a medical certificate are mandatory.

Payment & Cancellation Policy:

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with New Knight Adventure, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India

 

Cancellation Policy:

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 10 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
