Who Can Participate

  • Age Requirement:
    • April to November: 7 years.
    • December to March: Minimum 10 years
  • First-timers are welcome, though prior trekking experience is preferred. Good fitness is a must.
  • Fitness Criteria:
    • The trekker should have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance by jogging in 40 minutes without stress or 10 km of distance in 90 minutes without stress
    • If the trekker prefers cycling, he/she should be able to cycle 8 km of distance in 30 minutes.
  • If the trekker wants to carry a backpack, he/she should be able to carry a 10-12 kg backpack. If opt Off-load option then the trekker should be able to carry a 3-5 kg backpack.
  • If a trekker’s BMI is more or less than the normal range (18-29), please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.

Itinerary

Day-1: Rishikesh to Baniyakund

  • Altitude: 2,600 m/ 8,500 ft.
  • Drive Distance: 210 km | 7-8 hrs

Day-2: Baniya Kund to Chopta (drive) and trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila and Return

  • Altitude:
    • Tungnath: 3,500 m / 11,500 ft
    • Chandrashila Top: 3,700 m / 12,000 ft
    • Chopta: 2,800 m / 9,400 ft
  • Trek Distance: 9-10 km | 7-8 hours (Both sides)
  • Drive Distance: 5 km | 10 min (One way)

Day-3: Drive to Rishikesh

  • Drive Distance: 210 km | 7-8 hrs

Day 1: Rishikesh to Baniyakund

  • Altitude: 2,600 m / 8,500 ft
  • Drive: 210 km | 7–8 hrs

Begin early from Rishikesh and drive through scenic mountain roads towards Baniyakund. En route, witness the beautiful confluence at Devprayag and the stunning landscapes of Garhwal.

Upon arrival, enjoy tea and a short trek briefing. Relax at the campsite surrounded by forests and meadows.

Day 2: Chopta – Tungnath – Chandrashila Summit – Return

  • Tungnath: 3,500 m / 11,500 ft
  • Chandrashila: 3,700 m / 12,000 ft
  • Trek: 9–10 km | 7–8 hrs (round trip)
  • Drive to Chopta: 5 km | 10 min

Drive to Chopta and begin the trek to Tungnath, one of the highest Shiva temples in the world. The well-laid trail ascends gradually through meadows and forests.

From Tungnath, continue the climb to Chandrashila Summit. The summit offers breathtaking panoramic views of Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Chaukhamba and Kedarnath ranges.

After enjoying the summit views, descend back to Chopta and return to Baniyakund for overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive Back to Rishikesh

  • Drive: 210 km | 7–8 hrs

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Rishikesh. Enjoy one last glimpse of the Garhwal Himalayas as you descend through scenic valleys.

Arrive in Rishikesh by evening, marking the end of your memorable Chopta Chandrashila adventure.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with New Knight Adventure, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India

 

Cancellation Policy:

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 10 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
