Who Can Participate

  • Age Requirement:
    • Minimum 7 years.
  • First-timers are welcome, though prior trekking experience is preferred. Good fitness is a must.
  • Fitness Criteria:
    • The trekker should have sufficient stamina to cover 5 km of distance by jogging in 40 minutes without stress or 10 km of distance in 90 minutes without stress
    • If the trekker prefers cycling, he/she should be able to cycle 8 km of distance in 30 minutes.
  • If the trekker wants to carry a backpack, he/she should be able to carry a 10-12 kg backpack. If opt Off-load option then the trekker should be able to carry a 3-5 kg backpack.
  • If a trekker’s BMI is more or less than the normal range (18-29), please consult our Trek Coordinator before booking.

Day-1: Dharamshala to Kareri Village Drive and Trek to Liyoti

  • Altitude (Dharamshala): 1,450 m/ 4,750 ft
  • Altitude (Kareri Village): 1,800 m/ 5,900 ft
  • Altitude (Liyoti): 2,450 m/ 8,000 ft 
  • Drive Distance (Dharamshala – Kareri Village): 25 km | 2 hrs
  • Trek Distance (Kareri Village – Liyoti): 6 km | 4-5 hrs

Day-2: Trek To Kareri Lake and Back To Liyoti

  • Altitude (Liyoti): 2,450 m/ 8,000 ft 
  • Altitude (Kareri Lake): 2,950 m/ 9,700 ft.
  • Trek Distance: 14 km | 7-8 hrs (Both Sides)

Day-3: Descend To Kareri Village | Drive Back To Dharamshala

The trek begins with a scenic drive from Dharamshala to Kareri Village. After reaching the village, the trek leader will brief the group about the journey ahead.

The trail climbs gradually through beautiful pine and cedar forests. Pine needles cover parts of the trail so careful footing is necessary. Along the route you will walk beside a lively mountain stream, cross small bridges, and pass a beautiful waterfall where you can refill water.

The campsite at Liyoti lies in a peaceful alpine meadow at about 8,000 ft. Enjoy the surrounding forest views and relax at the campsite before dinner.

Day 2: Trek to Kareri Lake and Return to Liyoti

After breakfast the trek continues towards the beautiful Kareri Lake. The trail follows the Nyund Nallah stream through forests and open meadows.

On the way you may see huts used by the Gaddi shepherd community who move with their livestock across the mountains.

Kareri Lake is a stunning high-altitude lake with crystal clear water surrounded by the Dhauladhar mountains. A small Shiva temple stands beside the lake which adds to the spiritual charm of the place.

After exploring the lake and enjoying the peaceful surroundings, return along the same trail back to the Liyoti campsite.

Day 3: Descend to Kareri Village and Drive to Dharamshala

  • Drive Distance: 25 km | 2 hrs

  • Expected arrival at Dharamshala around 5:30 PM

Wake up to fresh mountain air and enjoy breakfast at the campsite. After packing up, begin the descent towards Kareri Village along the same scenic forest trail.

The descent takes about 3–4 hours. Once you reach Kareri Village, the journey continues by road back to Dharamshala.

You are expected to reach Dharamshala by evening, marking the end of this beautiful Himalayan trek.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with New Knight Adventure, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India

 

Cancellation Policy:

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 10 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
